Beginners' traditional leaded light workshop 6th February 2027

£150.00Price

Spend a fun day learning a new skill and creating your own stained glass panel. The day runs from 10-5pm and commences with you learning how to cut glass safely. You will be working to a pre-designed pattern, known as a cartoon. Once you have chosen the coloured glass you want to use Mona will guide you through the construction of your traditional leaded panel, cutting the lead came to size, fitting it to the glass, soldering the joints and finally cementing it. By the end of the day you will have a thorough understanding of how leaded windows are made and will take home your own unique decorative panel.

I do not provide lunch but across  the courtyard we have the Deli Cafe which offers workshop attendees a 20% discount Please wear old clothes or bring an apron as working with glass is fun but messy.

You won't have to pay for parking as you are attending a workshop. Just come straight to the studio on the day with your car registration and I'll get you put on the system for free.

Please Note

Stained glass is a traditional craft. You will be handling and cutting glass as well as using  lead came, solder and a soldering iron. I provide latex gloves to prevent you touching the flux, solder and lead came.

5 is the maximum of people in this workshop to ensure you receive individual attention. You will have to stand for parts of the day so a certain amount of stamina is required and as a precaution I advise pregnant women or nursing mothers not to attend due to the use of lead came.

If you have any other health issues which may be exacerbated by working with these materials please contact Mona to discuss further.
